As Deputy Store Manager, you will play a central role in supporting the Store Manager with all aspects of day-to-day operations within a large-format, big-box retail setting. You’ll lead by example, ensuring a consistently high standard of customer service, driving sales performance, and maintaining operational excellence throughout the store. This hands-on role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a results-driven mindset.
Responsibilities as Deputy Store Manager
* Support the Store Manager in driving sales, achieving targets, and delivering exceptional customer service
* Oversee daily store operations, ensuring strong visual merchandising and stock availability
* Lead, coach, and develop the team to maintain high performance and a customer-first mindset
* Monitor KPIs and operational performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions
* Ensure full compliance with company procedures, stock management, and health & safety regulations
Skills & Experience Required:
* Proven experience in a retail leadership role (e.g. Deputy Manager, Duty Manager, Department Manager)
* 2 years + Big Box fast paced Non Food or Grocery retail management experience
* Effective team leader with a proactive and hands-on management style
* Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to motivate and engage teams
* Solid understanding of retail operations and key drivers of sales performance
* Self-driven, adaptable, and focused on achieving results in a fast-paced environment
