Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Senior MES Manager, the Engineering Technician 3 will provide technical support to equipment engineers for the improvement, installation, validation, and transfer of custom automated equipment used in manufacturing scale-up for existing or new Dexcom products. Responsibilities include supporting cross-functional equipment deployment teams and working with outside suppliers to meet specifications and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work with schematics, diagrams, descriptions, layouts, or plans to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting.
* Test performance of electro-mechanical assemblies using test equipment.
* Operate, test, or maintain robotic equipment and vision systems.
* Analyze and record test results, and prepare documentation.
* Perform operational testing and fault isolation on automated systems and equipment.
* Assist in equipment development activities under supervision, including assembly, testing, and validation.
* Follow Dexcom’s Safety and Lock Out/Tag out (LOTO) procedures.
* Update equipment documentation as needed.
* Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring safety and compliance.
Qualifications:
* Typically requires a Level 6/7 qualification and 5-8 years of related experience.
* Ability to interpret scientific and technical documents related to equipment.
* Experience with PLC, automated production equipment, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electro-mechanical systems is highly desirable.
* Experience with process improvement projects, such as yield enhancement and downtime reduction.
* Proven hands-on ability in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and process documentation.
