We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Engineer to support our clients in County Kerry. As part of our Engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in cost control throughout the entire project lifecycle, from bid stage through to handover and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors, ensuring accuracy and precision.
2. Prepare cost calculations for emerging technologies, driving innovation and efficiency.
3. Provide expert support for general costing queries raised by our Sales Department, fostering collaboration and effective communication.
4. Assist in developing financial status reports for active contracts, ensuring transparency and accountability.
5. Contribute to the design and implementation of cost configurators, streamlining processes and improving outcomes.
6. Support continuous improvement of internal costing processes, driving excellence and consistency.
7. Prepare budget estimates during project pre-costing phase, anticipating challenges and opportunities.
8. Generate cost estimates for production and optional technical features in tenders, maximizing value and competitiveness.
9. Participate in contract financial reviews, ensuring compliance and best practices.
Qualifications & Competencies:
* 2+ years' experience in a similar position, with a proven track record of success.
* Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is essential, demonstrating a strong foundation in technical principles.
* Ability to interpret technical specifications and connect design with cost impact, showcasing expertise and creativity.
* Proficient in ERP systems and MS Office, leveraging technology to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
