Position Summary:
The Polisher will follow process instructions and blueprints to polish components and work in conjunction with other departments to repair equipment for the biopharmaceutical industry. Polishers will have the chance to work in a fast-paced environment on industry-leading equipment.
Responsibilities:
* Polish equipment accurately and with proper procedures in a timely manner.
* Maintain strong attention to detail and accuracy in fabrication processes.
* Have knowledge of all types of hand tools and measuring devices.
* Work on stainless steel fabrication, including but not limited to:
o Cutting tube
o Operating hand grinders
o Polishing
* Perform NDT/Liquid Penetrant testing on all inside welds of electro-polished vessels.
* Install and maintain utility/service lines.
* Operate overhead cranes and/or forklifts.
* Inspect and maintain proper and safe operation of all shop equipment.
* Recommend improvements.
* Execute other tasks as assigned.
* Ability to travel when required.
* Actively participate in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunities.
Qualifications:
* Education: Leaving Certificate or equivalent
* Work Experience: Two (2) years of previous Metal Work experience preferred.
* Must be eligible to work in Ireland.
* Other Requirements:
o Ability to perform simple math equations.
o Ability to read a tape measure.
o Excellent problem-solving skills.
o Exceptional verbal communication skills.
o Proficiency with hand tools and basic fabrication tools.
o Self-motivated.
o Proficiency in reading blueprints.
Typically work is in a manufacturing environment or at a customer’s site.
Awareness of and prior experience with implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) is a plus.
Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience is a plus.
