Job Background
The Early Years Supervisor role involves delivering high-quality early years services to support the delivery of the Sure Start programme within the Bangor Sure Start.
You will be responsible for the daily operations of early years services and ensuring a welcoming, safe, and child-centered environment is created.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Assist in the induction of all Early Years Assistant staff within the Bangor Sure Start Project alongside the Early Years Coordinator.
* Line manage and supervise Early Years Assistant staff.
* Supervise student placements and volunteers within the early years programmes of Bangor Sure Start.
* Implement a child-centered and welcoming environment at all Sure Start programmes and activities.
* Ensure a safe, stimulating, and varied programme of play and learning opportunities are provided for children aged 0-3 years, suitable to the child's age and stage of development.
* Plan and review activities to meet individual children's needs, taking into account their abilities, interests, language, and cultural backgrounds.
Essential Criteria
* Minimum QCF Level 5 Child Care qualification or equivalent.
* One year of experience working in an early years sector.
* One year of experience line managing staff.
* Five GCSEs including English language and Maths, with Grade C or above.
* Clean driver's license and access to transport.
Desirable Criteria
* One year of experience in child observations and reporting on work done.
