Industrial Engineer Position
A seasoned Industrial Engineer is required to join a dynamic team in Cork, Ireland. The successful candidate will have expertise in lean manufacturing within the life sciences industry and a passion for innovation.
Job Description:
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading the transformational initiative to reduce lead time and identify process improvements across all areas of the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- As a technical leader within the Industrialization team, you will promote a lean engineering approach and ensure robust industrialisation practices from early concept through to full production.
- Collaborate with manufacturing process owners to deliver innovative solutions that meet customer needs.
- Develop and maintain current and future state value stream maps to identify bottlenecks, waste, and improvement opportunities.
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as lead time, changeover time, inventory levels, and cycle time variation.
- Lead multiple Kaizen Events to drive site performance and KPI improvement.
- Identify root causes of issues, develop potential solutions, and evaluate them against requirements.
- Create a customer-focused continuous improvement framework to document and monitor performances.
- Drive the development, assessment, recommendations, and implementation of re-engineering initiatives to simplify processes, eliminate waste, and achieve cost efficiencies.
- Train, coach, and mentor teams on Lean concepts and support business growth.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
- 6+ years of engineering and lean manufacturing experience.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt).
- Proven experience with Value Stream Mapping, time and motion studies, work content graphs, line balancing, simulation modelling, and work measurement techniques.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in tools like Excel, Minitab, Power BI, and AutoCAD.
- Proven track record of working in a team-based environment.
- Production System deployment experience.
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry.
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies and smart manufacturing concepts.
