Leinster Regional Safety Advisor
Our client, a leading specialist engineering and construction company, works across sectors such as Power, Natural Resources, Construction & Property. Due to an increase in project workload there is an opportunity for an experienced Safety Advisor for various projects in Leinster and Dublin areas. The safety advisor will work closely with the Project Team ensuring the current safety management system is implemented and project teams have the safety guidance, training and support they need.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Assisting in maintenance of the Safety Management System, Environmental Management System and Quality Management Systems and to ensure continued compliance with ISO 45001, ISO14001 and ISO 9001.
* Carrying out inductions.
* Producing monthly statistics.
* Champion Culture Development Programme (behaviour-based safety programme).
* Carry out and document site audits and inspections.
* Keeping up to date with changes in safety, health and environmental legislation and construction industry guidance.
* Ensuring personnel on site have the pre-requisite training records.
* Investigating, logging and monitoring of Incidents and Non-conformances.
* Identifying significant safety impacts for work areas and helping set-up appropriate controls.
* Ensure all safety and environmental records are kept and readily available.
* Prepare and present toolbox talks as and when required.
* Prepare and present at monthly safety meetings.
* Review subcontractor documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
* Relevant 3rd level qualification in health and safety.
* Experience on civil engineering/construction sites.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with one or more teams.
* Good written and spoken communication abilities.
* Good IT skills with a high attention to detail.
* Experience working on gas and electricity framework contracts and also civil projects (Knowledge and experience working in following areas: Excavations, crane lifting, temporary works, work at height, Confined Spaces traffic management etc.)
* Full clean drivers licence for visiting job sites
