Job Title: Inventory Optimization Specialist
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Optimization Specialist to join our team in County Westmeath. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading global healthcare company, and be part of a growing organization.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for overseeing material investment strategies, managing inventory-related risks, and controlling total cost of ownership including expedited and premium costs. They will establish and track inventory performance metrics, such as inventory targets, forecast accuracy, inventory turnover ratio (ITR), days inventory outstanding (DIO), and financial impacts related to inventory entitlement. The specialist will also champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory efficiency and customer satisfaction. Additionally, they will implement and refine inventory strategies for new and existing products (NWI, NPI, PIPO), including dual sourcing, forward buying, and buffering all while minimizing financial exposure.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement inventory optimization strategies to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
* Analyze and manage inventory-related risks, including forecasting and demand planning.
* Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure inventory performance.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on inventory goals.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as supply chain management or operations management.
* Minimum 7+ years of experience in inventory management, supply chain planning, or procurement in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
* Strong analytical capabilities, with demonstrated experience in data visualization, executive-level reporting, and stakeholder influence.
* Proficiency with ERP systems, particularly Oracle or SAP.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Access.
Nice to Have:
Prior experience in operations, logistics, or demand planning would be beneficial. A Master's degree in supply chain management or operations management would also be advantageous. Certification from APICS (CPIM) or an equivalent professional planning body would be considered a plus.
