Role Overview
The Head of Marketing Strategy & Planning will define the PokerStars Marketing strategy for the Southern European Region. The role will set the overall marketing strategy and oversee its execution. Reporting to the SEU Marketing Director, this senior role requires a proven track record of translating commercial strategy into marketing strategy and delivering successful campaigns. You will work closely with commercial and wider marketing functions, building key relationships and helping set the focus and priorities for the SEU marketing team through 90‑day plans for France, Spain and Portugal.
What You'll Do
Lead and develop the marketing strategy for SEU
Work closely with the SEU Commercial team to convert commercial strategy into regional marketing & comms plans, with key pillars, prioritisation and budget recommendations
Manage a team of managers to ensure plans align with the wider regional strategy and achieve commercial targets
Support SEU Marketing Director in building a strong marketing leadership team and clear SEU strategy
Ensure integration of our brand propositions, TOV and look & feel across all customer touchpoints
Establish clear processes and ways of working for the SEU brand strategy & creative team
Support Marketing functions including Engagement and Media to develop specific strategies for their areas
Oversee and report on market trends and competitor advances, communicating recommendations based on insight
Collaborate closely with Marketing Insight to track and report on performance, driving optimisations and recommendations
Oversee compliance and regulatory information for the region, ensuring marketing is always compliant
Lead representative for SEU Marketing forums on regional topics, working with product, compliance and legal teams
Support briefing and execution of SEU plans and initiatives, working with Project Management to ensure efficient planning and execution
Work closely with supporting functions including PSN & external agencies where relevant
What You'll Bring
Vast experience in marketing, advertising or a related role
Experience of commercial areas and high collaboration with different functions
Extensive experience of marketing, brand and comms strategy
Ability to lead and develop a team
Proactive and able to work independently
Strong communication skills, able to align different parts of the business to one plan
Experience looking for innovation in marketing and seeking new growth opportunities
Highly proficient in preparing reports, plans and competitor analysis with strong data analysis skills
Highly organised, structured and accurate, following guidance in detail
Strong understanding of brand advertising, thriving in a results‑driven environment
Knowledge of or interest in online poker, casino and sportsbook is preferable
Fluent or strong knowledge of French, Spanish or Portuguese is desirable
