Job Title: Fitter
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Fitter to join our client's team at one of Ireland's leading manufacturing companies.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repair work as assigned while adhering to safety protocols.
* Inspect, adjust, rebuild, laser align, balance, and level pumps, fans, and other rotating machinery as required, either personally or under the guidance of the Lead Mechanic.
* Carry out welding repairs, including repairing welded piping, and installations using steel plate and work platforms.
* Conduct preventive maintenance tasks on all plant mechanical and electrical equipment.
* Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical problems, and maintain accurate maintenance records for the Maintenance Manager.
* Collaborate with the Lead Mechanic in training electrical and mechanical skills.
* Participate actively in plant shutdown work, involving teardown and inspection of all mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical plant equipment.
* Be available for on-call duties and work overtime as needed based on plant requirements.
* Assist warehouse and operations personnel as necessary.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly workspace, performing plant and shop housekeeping chores.
* Familiarize yourself with and adhere to company procedures and safety policies.
* Support all on-site safety and quality initiatives.
* Pursue qualifications to become a Lead Mechanic.
* Perform additional duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
Requirements
* Proficiency in mechanic fitter work.
* Experience with HGV vehicles (optional but preferred).
