Job Purpose
The Store Person is responsible for receiving, checking, storing, and distributing all goods within the hotel. This role ensures deliveries are logged accurately, stock is rotated correctly, and storage areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. Working closely with the kitchen, housekeeping, and events teams, the Store Person supports smooth hotel operations while maintaining compliance with HACCP and group procedures.
Role Responsibilities
Goods Receiving & Distribution
* Receive and check deliveries for food, beverage, and housekeeping departments.
* Follow HACCP protocols for all goods received, logging accurately through KitchTech.
* Communicate effectively with the Sous Chefs and Head Chef, reporting any delivery or stock issues promptly.
Stock Rotation & Inventory Control
* Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) stock rotation across all storage areas.
* Conduct monthly stock counts and input into ProcureWizard (PW) in line with reporting deadlines.
* Monitor stock levels and alert management of shortages or surpluses.
Storage & Organisation
* Organise and maintain fridges, freezers, and dry stores to the highest standards of cleanliness and turnover.
* Keep the goods receiving area tidy, clean, and clutter-free.
* Maintain clear and safe access in staff corridors, dry store stairs, and basement areas.
Compliance & Safety
* Ensure all storage areas comply with HACCP and food safety standards.
* Follow hotel SOPs for goods receiving, stock handling, and waste management.
* Manage waste and recycling, maintaining order in the external bin area.
Team Support
* Support kitchen and events teams with set-ups as required.
* Work closely with operational departments to ensure efficient stock distribution.
* Provide assistance to colleagues as part of a collaborative team environment.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a stores, logistics, or hospitality environment is an advantage.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Understanding of HACCP and food safety practices (training can be provided).
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A proactive approach with attention to detail and pride in workplace standards.
* Flexibility to support wider operational needs when required.
