Glebe Builders are seeking anIntermediate Quantity Surveyorto join our team. The role involves working closely with Directors, Project Managers, and site teams in the commercial management of construction projects from tender stage through to final account.Role OverviewThe Intermediate Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for assisting in the commercial and contractual activities of projects, ensuring accurate cost control, procurement, reporting, and subcontractor management in line with company procedures.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesLiaise with Directors, Project Managers, and construction teams on commercial and contractual mattersAssist in reviewing tenders with estimators, including rates and measuresReceive and manage project handover from estimatingCarry out remeasurement of worksAssist in setting project budgets, including labour, plant, material, and subcontract packagesPrepare procurement schedules and buying/drawdown packsAssist in subcontractor procurement and appointment in accordance with company proceduresPrepare subcontract orders in line with procurement schedules and contract programmesManage subcontractor accounts, including remeasurement, interim valuations, variations, and final accountsPrepare monthly client and subcontractor valuationsAssist with monthly accruals, CVRs, and cost reportingMaintain and update variation logs and assist with variation submissions and agreementMonitor weekly costs, productivity, labour, and plant usage and report on sameAttend site regularlyAssist with cash flow forecasting and monthly reportingWork closely with finance and commercial teams on cost control and reportingRequirementsPrevious experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industryDegree in Quantity Surveying or related disciplineExperience with cost reporting, valuations, and subcontractor accountsStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsAbility to work with senior management and site teams
