Memory Clinic Specialist
The role of Memory Clinic Specialist is a unique opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team providing neurocognitive assessment, diagnosis, and management of persons presenting with cognitive impairment.
This position involves participating in the assessment and management of patients with symptoms suggestive of young onset dementia and cognitive impairment, as well as older people with atypical and complex presentations attending a large regional centre for cognitive assessment (memory clinic).
* Be part of a broad multidisciplinary team providing neurocognitive assessment, diagnosis, and management of persons presenting with cognitive impairment including those at a young age.
* Provide a biomarker-based diagnosis of dementia in a timely manner including running a lumbar puncture clinic.
* Support primary care to manage patients once a diagnosis is made.
* Support research being conducted within the unit including participating in clinical drug trials and grant applications to further research.
The successful candidate will be appointed as a specialist and given the option of undertaking a structured taught Masters in Dementia as part of this role with fees included.
