Role Overview
The Principal Solution Architect will serve as the strategic technology leader driving end to end cloud migration initiatives for critical banking applications. This role requires deep expertise in cloud platforms, containerization, and enterprise architecture, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance, security, and operational resilience. The architect will partner with senior stakeholders, engineering teams, and compliance officers to ensure seamless migration of legacy systems into modern, scalable, and secure cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
• Define and own the cloud migration strategy for core banking platforms, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory mandates.
• Act as the primary technical authority for cloud and container architecture decisions.
• Provide thought leadership on emerging cloud technologies and their applicability in financial services.
Architecture & Design
• Design target state architectures leveraging cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker).
• Establish hybrid cloud and multi cloud strategies to balance resilience, cost, and compliance.
• Develop reference architectures, blueprints, and design patterns for containerized workloads.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity are embedded in all designs.
Migration Execution
• Lead assessment of legacy banking applications and define migration approaches (rehost, refactor, replatform).
• Oversee containerization of applications, including microservices decomposition and orchestration.
• Guide DevOps teams in implementing CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm, ARM templates).
• Ensure smooth cutover and minimal disruption during migration phases.
