Summary Of The Business
The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) provides asset and liability management services to the Irish Government. It has evolved from a single function agency managing the National Debt to a manager of a complex portfolio of public assets and liabilities. Businesses managed by the NTMA include borrowing for the Exchequer and the management of the National Debt, the State Claims Agency, the New Economy and Recovery Authority ("NewERA"), the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, National Development Finance Agency and the NTMA Future Ireland Funds business unit with responsibility for the management of the Future Ireland Fund and Infrastructure, Climate and Nature Fund. The NTMA also assigns staff to the National Asset Management Agency, the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland (SBCI) and Home Building Finance Ireland (HBFI).

Role Summary

The internal communications team plays a key role in supporting our organisation's mission. We help our colleagues stay informed and inspired to do their best work. We're a small, friendly team with big ambitions.

You'll be working closely with our Senior Internal Communications Manager, who brings many years of experience and is passionate about helping people grow in their careers. You'll also be joining us at an exciting time — we're embracing AI and new digital tools to work smarter and communicate better. Principal Accountabilities

* Help shape and deliver our internal communications strategy - from messaging and tone to channels and creative campaigns.
* Keep our digital workspace fresh and engaging with email updates, digital signage, intranet stories and video updates.
* Manage our content calendar & inbox and help us stay organised and responsive.
* Support internal events like town halls and culture-building initiatives.
* Explore and experiment with digital tools — from Canva to video editing, Slido, Mentimeter and AI-powered platforms.
* Partner with teams across the organisation on their communications - from shaping creative concepts and messaging to delivering email updates and leadership videos.
* Work with the People team and other functions to deliver change and transformation communications by drafting messages, preparing toolkits and coordinating updates to keep employees informed and engaged.
* Gather feedback and use data to improve how we communicate.
* Lead and manage ad hoc projects as assigned by the Senior Manager, Internal Communications

Experience

* Preferably 5-7 years' experience in a communications, marketing, People or creative role.
* Third level qualification in Communications, Marketing, PR, Business or equivalent certification.
* We're looking for someone who's curious, creative and interested in growing with us. You don't need to have internal comms experience. If you've worked in marketing, PR and/or have good digital and writing experience and want to do work that feels meaningful, this could be your next step.

Skills

* A strong writer who can adapt tone and style for different audiences.
* You take initiative, work independently and deliver creative, high‑quality results.
* Comfortable working with people at all levels – you're a good listener and a confident communicator.
* Digitally curious and enjoy trying out new tools to make an impact.
* Some experience with design or content tools like Canva, video editing or interactive platforms such as Slido or Mentimeter (or an interest in learning).
* Organised and detail‑oriented, able to manage multiple priorities.
* You'll help coordinate projects, track timelines, budgets and vendor relationships.

Knowledge

* P rofic i ent with Microsoft Office Suite
* Knowledge of and /or willingness to learn - Canva, Vimeo or similar digital tools

Pension Aba tement
If an appointee has previously been employed in the Civil or Public Service and that appointee is entitled to or in receipt of a pension from the Civil or Public Service or where a Civil/Public Service pension comes into payment during the appointee's re-employment that pension will be subject to abatement in accordance with Section 52 of the Public Service Pensions (Single Scheme and other Provisions) Act 2012.
