Please note this SuperValu Store Manager role is based in the Midlands initially, with flexibility required in the future.
The purpose of this role is to drive store profitability and oversee the management and continuous development of the store.
This will be achieved through the direction and motivation of the store teams, ensuring strong retail disciplines are in place, implementation of plans and consistency of standards are delivered across the store.
The Store Manager will coach store management teams to overachieve on annual targets set and key financial metrics, such as labour, shrink, waste,whilst ensuring best in class retail excellence standards are achieved.

Store achieving best in class retail metrics
Competent Colleagues in each department within the store
Retail excellence standards achieving 89% or above
60% of all Store Vacancies filled internally
What you'll be doing:
Drive key sales initiatives and maximize on both the SuperValu brand and offer
Coach all AMs/ DMs on how to drive profitability, including the people and commercial skills required
Coach Assistant Managers and Duty Managers to develop local store plans focused on increasing footfall and spend
Develop an understanding of your local customer base and encourage local customer feedback groups/intercepts
Analyse sales trends to develop strategies to address areas of underperformance
Deliver waste, shrink and markdowns to required benchmark
Ensure the store is delivering operational margin and is finding ways to locally maximize scan margin
Reduce stock holding and control Stocktaking procedures
Drive a culture of lowest cost, ensuring all controllable costs are managed effectively
Ensure the duty management team have been set targets on Sales, Margin and Waste
Ensure the performance review process is fully implemented in the store
Internal Recruitment of 60% within store
Develop a succession plan for your store, ensuring we have the right colleagues in the right roles
Develop and coach talent at all levels within the store
Ensure compliance with all HR KPI's and legal requirements
Ensure the E.I.Q.A. Hygiene award is achieved annually
Ensure mystery shop results are consistently delivering ICARE excellence standards
Drive a culture of engagement within your store.
Drive breakthrough culture with a particular focus on ensuring that the appropriate breakthrough tools are implemented within the store (outcome focused, line of one etc.)
What we're looking for:
Ideally you should have or be able to demonstrate:
Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate a high level of commercial acumen
A successful track record of managing a number of different departments at a managerial level
Minimum of 10 years management experience in grocery retail industry, in both fresh and ambient departments
A self-starter with strong drive, an appetite for hard work who demonstrates energy and an ambition to succeed
Able to demonstrate strong leadership and team building skills
Excellent analytical skills with a particular focus on P&L management
Flexible management style; able to celebrate success, motivate and have difficult conversations with colleagues and managers
