We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Product Validation Specialist to join our dynamic team.
Location: Shannon, Co. Clare, Ireland – 100% on-site. R&D Lab-based role
Reporting to: Validation Team Leader
The Opportunity
As an R&D Product Validation Specialist, you’ll be central to our product development lifecycle. This role involves deep technical engagement, from validating new designs to performing critical electrical tests and ensuring adherence to our stringent quality standards. You’ll collaborate closely with design engineers, playing a crucial role in delivering robust, defect-free products to market.
Key Responsibilities
Comprehensive Product Validation: Lead validation efforts for new Alarm & IoT Sensor products, including RF modules & Gateways. The team also validate back-end portals, UIs, and mobile applications.
Hardware Build & Test: Build and assemble prototype electronic circuits/systems. Perform essential ESD and various Electrical Tests (Surges & Transients).
Collaborative Troubleshooting: Work with design engineers to diagnose and troubleshoot issues in electronic circuits, components, and software.
Validation Planning & Reporting: Create comprehensive validation plans, execute tests diligently, document results accurately, and prepare clear technical reports.
Quality Assurance & Documentation: Ensure all products consistently meet high quality standards, striving for zero defects. Contribute to knowledge base documentation.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
Experience: Minimum 2 years hands-on experience testing electronic products (hardware & software), ideally IoT, consumer electronics, or home security.
Electronics Expertise: Strong proficiency in electronics principles and components; able to confidently read and interpret schematics.
Hands-on Test Skills: Proficient with electronic test equipment (Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, Signal Generators, etc.) and experienced with soldering and rework (including surface mount components).
Analytical & Detail-Oriented: Strong problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and a meticulous approach.
Organizational Skills: Ability to follow the project plan, manage tasks effectively, and work to deadlines.
Education: Qualification in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, or significant equivalent practical experience.
Advantageous Skills
Familiarity with automated QA tools (e.g., Selenium, LabView).
Comfortable working on mains power products.
Proficiency in defect logging systems (e.g., Jira).
ISTQB or similar quality assurance certifications.
