The role of a Catering Equipment Technician involves ongoing support to the Service Manager to service and maintain all catering equipment. Responsibilities include repairing, commissioning, and maintaining catering equipment such as fryers, pressure fryers, grills, pizza ovens, hot counters, ovens, dishwashers, toasters, ice cream & milkshake machines, and refrigeration units.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Maintaining, operating, and repairing catering equipment;
* Modifying or adjusting equipment to meet specifications;
* Inspecting equipment to detect wear and damage and performing minor repairs, adjustments, and maintenance tasks;
* Maintaining inventories of equipment, storing and retrieving items, and assembling and disassembling equipment as necessary;
* Working in a flexible environment with various types of catering equipment;
* Aiding in maintaining strong standards and procedures;
* Interacting positively with management and staff to motivate and build relationships.
Requirements and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience and a good working knowledge of catering equipment, servicing, and maintenance. They must be hands-on individuals with excellent oral and written communication skills, along with strong attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and logs. Knowledge of refrigeration is an advantage.
