Roughan O'Donovan is looking to recruit an experienced clerk of works for a 24-month contract position on the Liffey Valley to City Centre BusConnects Core Bus Corridor project.Location:DublinJob type:Fixed-term contractDuration:24 monthsSalary:CompetitiveAbout The RoleAs part of the designer's site representative team, you will supervise the construction of the proposed bus corridor and enhanced walking and cycling infrastructure between Liffey Valley and the city centre. You will be based on site for the duration of the contract.The Works Primarily Involveaccommodation worksconstruction of retaining walls and other similar structuresutilities diversions and installationdrainage workstraffic signal coordination at junctions and pedestrian crossingsroad pavement construction and resurfacingcycle track construction, including separator kerbs and cycle track pavementfootpath reconstruction and reinstatementDutiesYour Duties Will Includeassisting the designer's site representative team in the fulfilment of their dutiesmonitoring the execution of the works in accordance with the contract requirementscarrying out daily site inspections of workmanship, witnessing testing and recording daily site activitiesraising non-conformance reportshighlighting design issues and liaising with the design team on any design-related mattersEssentialAt least five years' experience in the supervision or construction of road/active travel projects as a clerk of worksExtensive knowledge of civil engineering worksKnowledge of and experience in site supervision of contract works, including structures, drainage, utilities, road construction, reinstatement and control of roadworks in an urban environmentAbility to write clear and concise reports, keep works records and read specifications and drawingsProficiency in IT, particularly in relation to document handling and the production of reportsThorough knowledge of health and safety legislation and its application in the workplaceFluency/high level of proficiency in spoken and written EnglishDesirableExperience Of Workingas a tradesperson and/or forepersonon a similar project in an urban environmenton a similar project with significant active travel constructionon a similar project with utilities installation for local authoritiesAbout Roughan O'DonovanRoughan O'Donovan is one of Ireland's leading civil, structural and environmental engineering consultancies.
