Moreover, the ideal candidate will gain exposure to a diverse range of projects across the renewable energy, circular economy, and civil infrastructure sectors.Key ResponsibilitiesField Surveys - Assisting with and / or complete ecological field surveys across a range of habitats and species groups.Project Management – Lead small to medium-sized ecological projects and coordinate fieldwork and baseline assessments. Support project delivery in line with timelines, budgets, and QA protocolsReport Writing - Review and author high-quality ecological assessments, including AA Screenings, Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), Natura Impact Statements (NIS), and biodiversity chapters for EIARs.Communication - Mentor junior staff and support their professional developmentBusiness Development - Engage with clients, planning authorities, and statutory stakeholders.RequirementsA Bachelors or Masters degree in ecology, zoology, environmental science, or a related discipline with at least 2 – 4 year's experience. Eligibility or current membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIEEM).Demonstrated knowledge of Irish and EU ecological legislation, planning systems, and best practice. Knowledge of the EU Habitats Directive, knowledge of terrestrial and/or aquatic habitats, knowledge of Irish flora and fauna (and associated identification skills), bird identification skills, and/or alien invasive species identification skills .Experience with GIS and mapping software.Familiarity with ecological databases and planning portals.Field survey experience (e.g., bats, birds, habitats).Specialism in a protected species, habitat, or regulatory methodology.Project and team management experience. Stakeholder engagement skillsStrong technical report writing skills with attention to detail, as well as excellent communication and time management skills.
