The CO-BIOECON Project Towards a Co-designed Regional Strategy for the Bioeconomy is funded by the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine (DAFM) and is a collaboration between the University of Galway and UCD. The project will produce a co-designed regional strategy for the bio-economy and will consist of three capacity building approaches: (1) regional strategies and recommendations based on exemplars of best practice in the agri-food sector; (2) regional strategies and recommendations based on exemplars of the ‘role model’ farm; and (3) a regional land-use and conflict resolution strategy, whereby the land-use system is interpreted as a governing framework for the bio-economy. For broader policy application, a co-designed toolkit will be developed as a foundational framework for application to other rural contexts in Ireland.
Salary: Postdoctoral Researcher salary scale €46,305 - €59,063 per annum, (subject to the project’s funding limitations), and pro rata for shorter and/or part-time contracts.
The default position for all new public sector appointments is the 1st point of the salary scale. This may be reviewed, and consideration afforded to appointment at a higher point on the payscale (subject to the project’s funding limitations), where evidence of prior years’ equivalent experience is accepted in determining placement on the scale above point 1, subject to the maximum of the scale.
