In line with the HSE National Programme for Progressing Disability Services, Kare is also the Lead Agency for the provision of supports across South Kildare West Wicklow for children presenting with complex needs aged 0-18yrs.
We are actively looking for a Snr Psychologist to take a lead role in the delivery of Assessment of Need (AON) under the Disability Act ****.
The successful candidate will join an established interdisciplinary Children s Disability Network team.
Specified Purpose Contract: 6 months Location: Mid/South Kildare, East Offaly and West Wicklow Responsibilities and Duties: Plan a schedule for assessments in conjunction with colleagues Demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning skills and decision making.
Collaborate with the service user, all carers and supports staff as required during the assessment process.
Effectively manage and maintain the psychology resources, facilities and equipment Be adequately aware of the policy, legislative and professional requirements to ensure appropriate standards in their area of responsibility Ensure all records related to service provision are documented in accordance with professional standards, completed in a timely manner and are in the correct records as required Be able to communicate relevant information to others in relation to the service users needs Understanding of risk assessment in the context of the psychology service and service users needs.
Contribute to service planning and development as requested Maintain standards of practice and levels of professional knowledge by participating in continuous professional development initiatives and attendance at courses as appropriate and ensure compliance with statutory registration requirements.
Ensure the Health and Safety Framework and all relevant policies are adhered to.
Avail of appropriate clinical supervision to ensure own ongoing competency to deliver quality services and to supervise other staff.
Requirements: Have a university degree of diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) obtained with 1st or 2nd class honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject and honour obtained in that subject AND have an Irish post graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology OR An Equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health.
Applicants must have at least five years satisfactory post-graduate experience in professional psychology, no more than three years of which was spent in gaining the postgraduate professional qualification and no less than two years full-time spent in post qualification experience as a professional psychologist.
Years more than the permitted three years for completion of the post-graduate training or time not worked will not be taken into consideration when assessing the five years experience requirement Be a resident in Ireland and hold one of the following: EU passport or GNIB card with Stamp 1G, Stamp 2, Stamp 4, Stamp 4D, Stamp 5, or 4 EUFam.
Willing to undergo Garda Vetting.
International Police Clearance required (if lived outside of Ireland for more than 6 months after the age of 16).
