Job Description
The Regional Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day clinical activities of the screening programme, ensuring robust processes, management of service staff, and oversight of workforce training, accreditation, and competency. This involves working with a wide range of stakeholder organizations. The post holder will ensure the programme is delivered in line with national standards, providing an excellent screening service aimed at early detection and prevention of hearing loss.
Main responsibilities and opportunities:
* Ensure all records, documentation, and audits are properly maintained and in accordance with legislation, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
* Capacity planning, rota management, and workforce management.
* Health and Safety assessments, training, risk assessments, business continuity planning, patient feedback, incident recording, and investigation.
* Assess and monitor staff performance, ensuring high-quality service and effective communication. Participate in training and educational programs to enhance staff performance.
* Manage staff, monitor attendance, sickness, leave, and plan for succession.
* Recruitment, induction, appraisal, professional development, and performance management of staff.
* Adapt flexibly to changing needs of the service and organization.
* Oversee clinical aspects and daily management of the screening programme and staff.
* Manage each site’s P&L, forecasting, invoicing, validation, and reconciliation.
* Procure and raise orders for each site.
* Report and provide feedback on operational and KPI metrics.
* Travel within Ireland and the UK as needed.
This role covers the Newborn Hearing teams in the West / North West of Ireland.
Qualifications and Work Experience:
* Experience in healthcare settings.
* Experience managing large, remote teams.
* Management experience including performance management.
* Initiative, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
* Effective communication skills, both written and oral, with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
* People management and leadership skills.
* IT literacy, experience with screening databases, and knowledge of information governance.
* Ability to work independently with supervision of staff.
* Willingness to participate in CPD.
* Full driving license and own transport preferred.
This role is exempt from the Criminal Justice (Spent convictions and certain disclosures) Act 2016. Successful applicants will undergo enhanced disclosure.
Knowledge and Skills:
* Proficiency in computer applications.
* Proficiency in Irish or other languages (desirable).
* Interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
* Flexibility to travel within Ireland and UK.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Own car and driving license required.
