The TETRA Devices Software Engineering organization at Motorola Solutions develops next-generation solutions for mission-critical customers, following modern practices like CI/CD, DevOps, and automated testing within an Agile framework.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced SCM/DevOps Engineer to enhance our mission-critical solutions through automation, monitoring, security, and documentation. Responsibilities include:
1. Leading improvements in SCM/DevOps practices with a focus on automation.
2. Implementing automation, monitoring, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
3. Collaborating with IT to meet organizational needs.
4. Designing build, deployment, and configuration management using Git/Bitbucket.
5. Managing CI/CD tools like Jenkins and static analysis tools like SonarQube.
6. Managing custom testing environments.
7. Providing technical guidance and performance evaluations.
8. Working with cross-functional teams to deliver agile solutions.
9. Ensuring security, reliability, and scalability of the DevOps architecture.
Occasional involvement in software development/testing using Agile methodologies.
Basic Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
* Experience as a DevOps engineer with SCM background.
* Proficiency in Python and Groovy.
* Familiarity with AWS, focusing on resource management.
* Strong knowledge of Git, Jenkins, Linux, and CI/CD pipeline design.
* Ability to learn new technologies independently.
* Understanding of security issues, threats, and mitigation strategies.
* Strong organizational, planning, and leadership skills.
Desired Skills
* Experience with testing tools and automation.
* Knowledge of cloud, virtualization, and application hosting technologies.
Additional Information
Travel and relocation are not required. This is a full-time, mid-senior level position within the Telecommunications industry, with a focus on engineering and IT.
