Our client in the logistics sector is seeking a full-time, on-site Assistant Logistics Manager, based near Waterford City. This role involves overseeing daily operations, managing staff schedules, coordinating with customers, and ensuring proper equipment maintenance. The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring project progress, ensuring compliance with safety standards, optimising resources, and supporting the wider team to meet operational goals.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the business
* Manage and support the operations team, ensuring workload is balanced and performance is monitored effectively
* Continuously assess and enhance operational workflows and procedures
* Build and nurture strong relationships with customers, clients, and key stakeholders
* Ensure consistent customer satisfaction through a high standard of service delivery
* Prepare and present regular operational reports to the line manager and company directors
* Lead the recruitment, training, and development of a high-performing team
* Foster a collaborative and accountable workplace culture
* Promote and uphold high standards of Health & Safety across all activities
* Carry out additional duties as assigned by the line manager or company directors
Requirements:
* Proven experience in Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field a must.
* Working knowledge of equipment maintenance and adherence to safety compliance standards.
* Strong leadership capabilities with team management experience.
* Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
