Aviation Engineering Manager - Dublin Our client, in the aviation sector, is currently seeking an Engineering Manager.
The post holder will manage the functions of the Engineering Group, which includes engineers providing support for the Commercial Aircraft Sector.
The post holder will be the engineering representative on the leadership team and the Form 4 holder for the company.
Main responsibilities:Provide proactive daily engineering support to production assembly and test areas by resolving issues, maintaining product integrity, and influencing product cost.
Develop repair capabilities within the framework of customer contracts and regulatory requirements (FAA, EASA, CAAC, etc.).
Initiate clear production assembly/test instructions for operations personnel to ensure efficient production.
Ensure issues impacting quality, cost, and delivery are identified and addressed promptly.
Define and schedule the development of equipment to meet production requirements, such as assembly fixtures, tools, and test equipment.
Support other departments to maintain and improve product quality, first pass yield (FPY), production schedules, and cost objectives.
Utilize and develop repair processes to reduce turnaround time (TAT) and repair costs for out-of-production or in-production parts.
Work within a team environment and apply lean principles to incorporate world-class repair processes into regional (global) repair shops.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Science and/or Engineering or equivalent experience.
Proven technical expertise in aircraft hardware repair and overhaul, especially engines.
Good awareness of aircraft engine technology and current market trends; understanding of regulatory requirements.
Capabilities in Root Cause / Corrective Action, LEAN, Project Planning, Product line transfer, Data Acquisition, and Analysis.
Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
Eligibility: Candidates must be eligible to live and work in Ireland.
The post holder should be a self-starter, capable of making decisions and taking action independently.
Technical knowledge and integrity are essential to earn respect from colleagues and subordinates.
Willingness to travel is also required.
