Job Title and ProgramGraduate HSQE Program – 2 year rotation assignment, each rotation lasting 6 months, with experience in Pre‑contract, Design, Build, Asset Management and a UK site rotation. Gain exposure to Municipal and Industrial sectors and work in Loughrea headquarters and sites across Ireland.LocationLoughrea, County Galway, IrelandJob Reference39ca693cead5623111e03efb48655e30Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork as part of a team in the safe delivery of our projects, embracing the ethos of a “one team” culture.Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies, and procedures are always adhered to on‑site.Instill a positive Health and Safety culture within the team in their thinking and actions.Ensure compliance with current Environmental, Health and Safety legislation and maintain awareness of legislative changes and industry standards.Provide onsite HSQE presence during construction and operations to ensure HSQE controls, mitigation measures are implemented, maintained and performance monitored.Help senior advisors to develop Site Construction Stage plans, traffic management, waste management, etc. with the project team and monitor their implementation.Ensure all internal and external EHS reporting requirements are complied with.Monitor and report on the collection, recording, analysis, implementation of actions taken and feedback provided to the hazards identified during the weekly inspection/audits through our online management system.Assist/shadow conducting accident/incident investigations in a timely manner with the support of the project team, making recommendations to management in respect of these.Obtain and review safety documentation from Clients, Suppliers and Subcontractors.Ensure that subcontractors are made aware of the Company’s Plan and the requirement for project specific safety statements before appointment.Review, revise and update the Plan in the light of subcontractors’ information, the progress of work, the receipt of new design information and the occurrence of incidents or accidents.Implement the Plan and monitor the compliance of Company personnel and subcontractors against the Plan.Bring any safety, health or welfare issues to the attention of the Contract Manager, Site Agent/foreman for action prior to leaving site.Advise site management of the suitability and adequacy of safety and health provisions, safe working methods, safety of equipment and the validity of test certificates.The Safety Officer will be responsible for the maintenance of all site safety documentation in conjunction with the site team.Plan and hold safety inductions and briefings of Company and subcontractors’ personnel as detailed in the Safety and Health Plan for each project.Carry out Site Inspections and generate reports.Liaise with external parties relating to HSQE.Assist senior HSQE team to ensure ISO (9001, 45001, 14001) compliance.Assess the training needs of employees, ensure that employees’ training requirements are identified prior to new projects commencing and bring training requirements to the attention of the HSQE Manager.Other duties as required from time to time.Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceHold a Level 8 Degree in one of the following:Occupational Health & SafetyHealth, Safety & Environmental (HSE) ManagementSafety, Health & Welfare at WorkWhat We OfferThe opportunity to gain hands‑on experience by working alongside industry experts on some of the largest water infrastructure projects in Ireland and the UK.Professional DevelopmentThroughout the programme, you will receive mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals to develop technical expertise and essential career skills.
