What is the Role
This is a senior role within Group Financial Crime Compliance, reporting directly to the Head of Financial Crime Change Compliance.
You will deliver coordinated, proactive second line oversight of the Bank's Financial Crime change portfolio — ensuring regulatory expectations are understood, embedded, and executed consistently across the enterprise.
Key accountabilities
Assess and report on the Bank's readiness for upcoming regulatory changes, including the Single EU AML Rulebook, Payment Services Regulation (PSR) and evolving sanctions regimes.
Act as a key Financial Crime Compliance advisor to Financial Crime transformation projects, ensuring design decisions, controls, and operating model changes meet regulatory expectations.
Support the GFCC Senior Management Team by delivering clear regulatory interpretation of new legal and regulatory standards.
Influence strategic decisions to ensure long-term sustainable solutions within the Financial Crime Target Operating Model.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and accountability across the Financial Crime change agenda.
Partner with senior stakeholders to ensure complex Financial Crime requirements are understood, prioritised and implemented effectively.
Produce high-quality reports and updates for governance committees.
Engage with external auditors and regulators as required.
Lead, develop and support a diverse team within an inclusive environment that values contribution and professional growth.
What you Will Bring
Minimum 5 years' experience in second line Compliance, Risk or Regulatory roles, with a strong track record of oversight, challenge and advisory relating to change initiatives.
Strong technical knowledge of AML, Sanctions, Fraud and broader Financial Crime regulations, including clear understanding of supervisory expectations.
Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, influence senior stakeholders and guide decision-making across complex programmes.
Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and functions.
Project management experience is desirable but not essential.
