Our client, a global engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Structural Maritime Engineer to join them on a two year fixed term contract.
Duties include: Led the assessment and review of jetty and pier design specifications.
Evaluated structural soundness and material suitability to ensure design integrity.
Identified potential issues and provided recommendations to improve asset reliability and performance.
Collaborated with external stakeholders, including port authorities and towage service providers.
Coordinated with internal teams such as Marine Engineers, consultants, and the PMO.
Delivered detailed reports and findings to the client, supported by the PMO team.
Requirements: Possess 7–20 years of experience in Structural Maritime Engineering across environments such as jetties, piers, dockyards, shipyards, and offshore platforms.
Skilled in analysing maritime structural designs and assessing their operational effectiveness.
Demonstrate a meticulous approach to design precision, evaluation, and documentation.
Conduct safety assessments, identify potential hazards, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Experienced in navigating complex matrix organisations and multidisciplinary teams.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
Must reside within commuting distance of Cork; relocation support is not available.
