Job Description
We have an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated Principal Software Engineer to work as a technical lead in the Fidelity Institutional Technology Group.
Our team is responsible for designing, developing & implementing high-performance, secure and scalable applications to support the Fidelity Institutional business.
This role will form part of an exciting new group building innovative capabilities to support the rollout of new Digital Asset financial instruments in the Institutional market.
The Expertise We're Looking For
You have a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent and you want to learn more
8+ years of software application design & development experience
Desired skills: Java, Spring/Springboot, Angular/Javascript/Typescript, RESTful Services, AWS Cloud, Dockerised frameworks, CI/CD
Knowledge of batch and event-driven technologies (Kafka) is an advantage
Passionate about good API practices, structured design, clean code, microservices
Experience with testing software, including writing automated unit, integration, performance, and end-to-end tests
Experience with Agile methodologies
Ability to effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders including technology partners and the business
The Purpose of Your Role
You will be a technical lead member of a co-located scrum team made up of other software engineers, quality automation engineers and systems analysts responsible for delivering key customer features
We are looking for an engineer who is versatile, always eager to take on new problems, share solutions and mentor junior engineers as we push the technology forward
You will help define, implement, and advance development practices, standards, and strategies, contributing to the modern engineering practices across our platforms and teams
