Technical Director, Environmental Consultant (EIA) – Naas
A little more about your role. You will provide direction to our portfolio of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) in a variety of sectors, including electricity transmission, renewable energy, gas and other energy and infrastructure projects. The role will also require a skilled consultant who can guide regulatory processes, advise clients, and support stakeholder engagement for our projects.
Responsibilities
Provide direction to portfolio of EIAs across multiple sectors.
Guide regulatory processes and advise clients on environmental matters.
Support stakeholder engagement for projects.
Direct and lead projects including recruitment, bidding, team management, delivery, and financial management.
Play a key role in expanding and diversifying our offer in energy and linear infrastructure.
Provide environmental advice and support to clients, project managers and colleagues.
Work with diverse environmental specialists, clients and engineering teams to promote sustainable design and environmental enhancement.
Lead large, multiple, and complex projects, overseeing technical, quality, commercial, and H&S performance.
Build relationships with clients and identify opportunities to provide support in areas such as resourcing, programming, strategy development, and project delivery.
Proactively seek to develop new client relationships and marketing opportunities.
Undertake activities to secure new work, including developing proposals, delivering strategic level bids and framework opportunities.
Lead on and contribute to the development of innovative techniques to shape the way we do our business.
Drive performance improvement and career advancement opportunities across the team.
Promote and build team culture and support others in problem solving and achieving team and business goals.

Undertake actions that contribute towards the success of the WSP business strategy.
Qualifications
Relevant environmental or planning degree or equivalent experience.
Demonstrable experience in EIA delivery for major energy or infrastructure schemes.
In‑depth knowledge of Irish planning legislation and EU directives; experience engaging with An Coimisiún Pleanála and public consultations.
Thorough knowledge of a diverse range of environmental issues.
Proven ability to manage complex projects and multi‑disciplinary teams, providing guidance and mentorship to other staff.
Track record of leading client communications and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, regulators and the public.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic planning, win new work through bids and proposals, and enhance reputation in the energy T&D sector.
Proven track record of developing and upskilling internal teams.
Evidence of successfully driving business growth.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Chartership of a relevant professional body.
