Following the continued success of Tetra Tech in Ireland, having secured a variety of new and interesting brownfield regeneration, ground investigation, and hydrogeological frameworks and projects, we are looking for a Senior Geo Environmental Consultant to join our team based in Gorey, Wexford.
You will have experience in projects across diverse sectors, with the confidence to liaise directly with clients and stakeholders, and a desire to support our growing profile. Strong technical skills are essential, with a specialty highly desirable—experience in authoring and reviewing factual and interpretive geotechnical reports and a degree in Environmental Science or Engineering Geology are encouraged to apply. Enthusiasm for supporting our business development strategy would be beneficial.
Our Geo team undertakes a diverse range of projects across various sectors, delivering geo-environmental consultancy services supported by in-house ground investigation capabilities.
The successful candidate will join this busy team, delivering focused solutions for our key client base, emphasizing technical excellence, client care, and effective project management. The role involves working alongside specialists in land contamination, environmental due diligence, ground investigation, groundwater, and geo-technical fields to deliver holistic solutions. Collaboration with geo-environmental teams in other offices and with other specialists in planning, environment, and engineering is also expected.
Key attributes for the role include sound technical knowledge, enthusiasm, self-motivation, and excellent communication skills. The role is approximately 50% site-based and 50% office-based, subject to workload variations.
You should hold a degree in geology, engineering geology, hydrogeology, or relevant environmental science. A postgraduate qualification, such as a Master’s degree, is advantageous. Chartership with bodies like CIWEM, IEMA, or the Geological Society is desirable, along with postgraduate industry experience.
An understanding of current contaminated land guidance and development planning regimes is important.
* Experience in planning, managing, and supervising ground investigations, including groundwater and ground gas monitoring, with data interpretation skills. Relevant site work accreditations (e.g., SMSTS, SSSTS, CSCS) are advantageous.
* Consultancy experience in delivering ground investigation works.
* Knowledge of current standards and guidance for contaminated land investigation and remediation, with ability to produce Phase 1 desk studies and Phase 2 interpretative reports, including risk assessments.
* Excellent report writing and communication skills, with full IT literacy.
* Understanding of health, safety, and environmental management.
* A full, preferably clean, driving license.
* Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
