Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented
Data Specialist
to join our Operations team. This role is instrumental in supporting both project delivery and ongoing service operations by ensuring the integrity, quality, and usability of data across the service lifecycle.
Acting as a key stakeholder from the early stages of project delivery, the Data Specialist works to validate data flows, resolve quality issues, and develop the dashboards and reporting tools that inform operational readiness. Their proactive involvement helps establish robust data foundations that support a seamless transition to live service and enable data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
During Project Delivery Phase:
* Collaborate closely with project and operations teams to define and develop operational data requirements, KPIs, and reporting frameworks that support service readiness.
* Embed within delivery activities to validate data flows and identify or resolve data quality issues early, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
* Support the design, testing, and refinement of data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting tools critical for Operational Readiness Testing (ORT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), capacity planning, and service modelling.
* Document operational data sources, ownership, and governance models in preparation for go-live.
* Contribute to the design of service reporting structures including performance, availability, and SLA tracking.
* Develop and refine dashboards and reporting solutions to be transitioned into steady-state operational use.
Post Go-Live (Steady-State Operations):
* Maintain and deliver recurring operational reports and dashboards, tracking KPIs, performance indicators, and service health.
* Monitor real-time and daily data feeds to detect trends, anomalies, and performance risks, escalating as needed.
* Provide actionable insights and recommendations to the Service Delivery Manager and broader operations team to support decision-making and continuous service improvement.
* Lead data quality assurance efforts, ensuring ongoing accuracy, relevance, and timeliness of reporting outputs.
* Produce ad-hoc data analysis to support operational queries, change impact assessments, and service management initiatives.
* Continuously enhance data tools, metrics, and visualizations to adapt to evolving operational needs.
Person Specification
Essential:
* Proven experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence roles, preferably supporting operational teams or service delivery.
* Proficiency with Power BI or equivalent dashboarding and visualization tools.
* Advanced Excel skills and experience using querying languages such as SQL.
* Ability to build, interpret, and present clear, actionable performance metrics and trends.
* Strong communication skills, able to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
* Experience working in fast-paced, multi-priority environments with tight deadlines.
Desirable:
* Experience contributing to project delivery, especially in defining and embedding data and reporting processes.
* Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for data manipulation and automation.
* Familiarity with ITIL, service management frameworks, or operational performance measurement.
* Understanding of data governance, privacy, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR).
