Location: Hillsborough (with engagement across Loughgall, Crossnacreevy, and Newforge)
Contract Type: Temporary for up to 5 months
Rate of Pay: 19.59 per hour
Hours: Flexible, minimum 22 hours/week (Full-time or Part-time options available)

About the Role:
AFBI’s Sustainable Agri-Food Systems Division (SAFSD) is seeking a dynamic Communications Officer to help translate scientific research into engaging stories for the agri-food industry and the wider public. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the intersection of science and communication, showcasing impactful agricultural research.
Key Responsibilities:
Collate and interpret scientific stories from AFBI’s agricultural research programmes.
Produce content for press releases, social media, and industry-facing publications.
Highlight staff achievements and research outcomes with relevance to farmers and the agri-food sector.
Essential Criteria:
Option 1: 2 A-Levels (or equivalent/higher) and 2 years’ relevant experience
OR
Option 2: 5 GCSEs including Science, Maths & English (Grades A*-C or equivalent/higher) and 3 years’ relevant experience
Proven track record in delivering communications aligned with the role’s needs.
