Planner / Scheduler – Construction
Salary: €80,000 - €90,000 + Comprehensive Benefits Package
The Role
Our client is a well-established Irish construction contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality residential, commercial, and public sector projects across Ireland. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Planner / Scheduler to join their team.
Based in the Cork office, this position will be fully onsite for the first 6 months, allowing you to build strong relationships with project teams and stakeholders. Following successful completion of probation, the role offers 1 day per week working from home.
Key Responsibilities
Develop tender-stage construction programmes and supporting planning narratives.
Create and maintain detailed project schedules using MS Project, Primavera P6, or Asta Powerproject.
Monitor project progress, analyse critical paths, and identify programme risks.
Support project teams with planning, sequencing, and resource allocation.
Produce clear reporting including Gantt charts, S-curves, dashboards, and programme updates.
Facilitate programme review meetings and recommend corrective actions where required.
Contribute to continuous improvement and planning best practice across projects.
About You
Degree qualified in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in planning and scheduling within the construction industry.
Strong understanding of Irish construction methods, project sequencing, and resource management.
Experience working on medium to large-scale construction projects.
Knowledge of Public Works and RIAI contract frameworks is highly desirable.
Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
