Cork City Council is hiring an Executive Tree, Parks & Landscape Officer to join our Parks & Recreation Team.

The Role
Reporting to the Senior Parks & Landscape Officer, you will provide professional arboricultural and landscape expertise to support:
Strategic Tree Management: Protecting and integrating trees into Cork’s greening plans.
Green Infrastructure: Developing safe, high-quality, and attractive public spaces.
Climate & Biodiversity: Leading projects that support climate action objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working with planners, elected members, and the public.
Requirements
To be eligible for this role, you must hold:
A Level 8 qualification (or higher) on the NFQ in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Arboriculture, or Natural/Environmental Science.
What We Are Looking For (Desirable)
5+ years of post-graduate experience in managing parks, urban forestry, green infrastructure, or public realms.
Strong knowledge of planning law, procurement, and contract management.
Proven ability to lead, supervise, and motivate multidisciplinary teams.
Exceptional communication skills to advise stakeholders and prepare technical reports.
Deep commitment to health & safety compliance and public service values.
