This is a key technical leadership role focused on building secure, cloud-native applications within a modern Azure environment.You’ll play a critical role in shaping architecture, driving best practices, and embedding a security-first mindset across engineering teams.Role OverviewAs a Senior / Lead Engineer, you will take ownership of designing and delivering scalable, secure microservices using Spring Boot, while leading the adoption and optimisation of Azure-based infrastructure.This role combines hands‑on engineering with technical leadership, offering the opportunity to influence architecture, mentor developers, and drive cloud‑native excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesSecure API DesignArchitect, build, and maintain high-performance RESTful APIs using Spring Boot, ensuring scalability and adherence to best practices.Advanced Security ImplementationDesign and implement robust security frameworks using Spring Security, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and JWT-based authentication.Deploy and manage services within Azure, including Kubernetes (AKS), App Services, and serverless functions.CI/CD & AutomationLead the development of automated pipelines using GitHub Actions, integrating security scanning and streamlined deployments.Drive Docker adoption and ensure efficient orchestration within cloud-native environments.Technical LeadershipMentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and set engineering standards across the team.Required Experience & Skills5–10+ years of professional Java development experience in enterprise environmentsDeep expertise in Spring Boot and the wider Spring ecosystemStrong experience designing and securing microservices architecturesProven hands‑on experience with Azure cloud services (compute, networking, storage)Expert knowledge of OAuth2, OIDC, and JWT authentication mechanismsSolid experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelinesStrong Docker and containerisation experienceDemonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and influence engineering teams
