Transport Officer
Permanent Contract Full-time 35 hours per week
Location: Central Services Office, Newbridge
HSE GRADE V (CLERICAL) Salary Scale - Point 1 €51,718
The Transport Officer will be part of the Facilities, Projects and Transport Team tasked with the operational management & coordination of the Kare fleet and general administration & backup support for the Facilities department. The role will also assist the Facilities & Transport Manager with the strategic development of policies and processes to develop, improve, influence, and evolve Transport provision in Kare.
Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate the day-to-day operation of the vehicles
Back up and administrative support to the Facilities and Projects team
Implement and further develop the Kare Transport Strategy Action plan
Work with internal and external stakeholders to overcome transport challenges and meet the needs of the organisation
Lead the implementation of fleet sustainability to meet the Public Sector Climate Action Plan Mandate and represent Transport as a member of the Green Team
Lead procurement of new vehicles, maintenance contracts, contract bus runs and other transport services
Lead in the procurement and contract management of retained Facilities contracts and leases
Lead TrackPlan data entry, contractor set-up, data management and updating, software improvements etc
Assist in the implementation of department actions from JAF and HIQA inspections
Assist the Facilities & Transport Manager with admin. duties associated with the Housing Committee

Essential Requirements
A recognised qualification in Business/ Facilities / Transport or relevant qualification
At least 3 years satisfactory experience in a relevant Transport or Facilities role.
Experience of working in a busy office environment that has involved dealing with internal and external stakeholders
Knowledge of GDPR and managing confidential information
Must have a full, valid driver's licence and access to your own vehicle
Must be eligible to work in Ireland without sponsorship
Desirable
Experience with procurement processes
