Operators & Operatives – Dublin, Ireland
Salary: From €36,640 per year (€18/hour, €704/week) plus overtime and standby pay
Location: Must live within a reasonable distance from the assigned work area for out-of-hours response
Responsibilities
* Water/Wastewater Treatment Operator
* Responsible for operating and maintaining treatment plants and equipment. Tasks include monitoring processes, checking water quality, taking samples, recording data, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring all work is carried out safely and efficiently.
* Water/Wastewater Network Operator
* Supports the daily operation of the water and wastewater network. Duties include investigating and resolving issues such as blockages or bursts, carrying out routine maintenance, assisting with surveys and testing, and liaising with customers to resolve service issues promptly.
* Carries out planned and reactive maintenance on network infrastructure. Work includes repairing leaks and bursts, replacing meters, valves, and hydrants, maintaining pumping stations, and providing emergency cover when required.
Qualifications
* Secondary education or equivalent experience
* Full, clean Class B driving license (additional categories an advantage)
* Strong health and safety awareness and adherence to safe work procedures
* Problem-solving ability and willingness to work independently and in teams
* Basic IT skills and experience using electronic systems
* Previous experience in utilities, maintenance, or construction is desirable
* Will also look at background in Warehousing or experience with chemicals.
