**Job Title:** Clinical Nurse Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team in Galway. This is a 12-month maternity contract leave role initially.
Key Responsibilities:
* To manage and coordinate certain aspects of haemodialysis service, including monthly bloods, analysis, and prescription specific to Anaemia and Renal Mineral Bone Disease management.
* To compile and report monthly and annual audit data for the AIS.
* Patient needs – planning implementation and evaluation of outcomes through audit.
* Nurse prescribing as per Collaborative Practice Agreement.
* The post holder will take responsibility for monitoring and acting on monthly bloods, and transplant evaluation and follow-up.
Clinical Focus:
* Manage patient care to ensure the highest standards are maintained using evidence-based practice, care planning approach.
* Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of monthly bloods, transplant work up and follow-up, Hepatitis B vaccinations and monitoring to a haemodialysis patient grouping.
* Provide information and specialist advice to patients on haemodialysis. Selecting and developing appropriate literature and support networks that are available.
* To be involved in infection control and health promotion of the haemodialysis population.
Requirements:
* A qualification to degree level in Nursing and registered with NMBI.
* Postgraduate Diploma in Renal Nursing.
* Strong planning, organisation, and work prioritisation skills.
* Excellent relationship and interpersonal skills.
