Role Overview We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day finance operations of the business.
This role involves transactional accounting, reconciliations, and administrative finance duties, while working closely with senior finance team members.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organised, and motivated to develop their accounting skills within the healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and on time.
Prepare and post supplier invoices, staff expenses, and customer receipts.
Perform bank, creditor, and debtor reconciliations.
Assist with month-end close activities, including journals and accruals.
Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure proper filing of financial documentation.
Support the preparation of management reports and financial statements.
Assist with VAT returns and other regulatory or compliance reporting as required.
Liaise with internal departments and external vendors to resolve invoice or payment queries.
Support audits and internal controls by providing documentation and explanations when required.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency within the finance function.
Skills & Experience Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
1-3 years' experience in an accounts or finance role.
Experience working in healthcare or a regulated environment is advantageous.
Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
Familiarity with accounting systems or ERP software is desirable.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage multiple priorities.
Studying or interest in pursuing a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) is a plus.
