Automation Support Engineer – Manufacturing SystemsLocation: Longford or Sligo, IrelandEmployment Type: Full-timeTravel: Approx. 10–15% to European manufacturing sitesWe are seeking a motivated Automation Engineer with 1.5 to 2 years of experience to join a growing technical team supporting highly automated, high-volume production operations. This role provides hands-on experience across multiple facilities and exposure to a wide range of automation technologies in a regulated manufacturing environment.Key Responsibilities:Support day-to-day automation operations across production lines (filling, capping, inspection, and packaging systems)Assist in programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining PLCs, robotics, and vision systemsCollaborate with cross-functional teams in engineering, quality, and production to resolve automation issuesContribute to equipment upgrades, installations, and vendor coordinationHelp maintain compliance through technical documentation and validation supportShare best practices and automation improvements across sitesRequirements:18 to 24 months of hands-on experience in automation or controls engineeringWorking knowledge of PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley), robotics, or industrial vision systems (e.g., Cognex)Qualification in Automation, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a similar disciplineStrong troubleshooting and communication skillsWillingness to learn and develop in a high-performance, regulated settingDesirable Experience:Exposure to regulated environments such as medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturingFamiliarity with validation processes (FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, PQ)Experience working with multi-site or international teamsThis is an ideal role for an early-career automation professional looking to grow their technical skills and contribute to the performance and reliability of world-class manufacturing operations.
