We are looking for a driven and commercially focused Business Development Manager to support continued growth across the UK & Ireland life sciences market. This is a field-based role focused on developing new business and expanding key accounts within Pharma, Biotech and API
manufacturing.
About the Role:
As Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth through
solution-based selling
of a comprehensive portfolio covering
validation services, calibration services, monitoring systems, temperature mapping and instrumentation
.
You will operate with a strong
new-business mindset
, proactively identifying and engaging new customers while developing opportunities within existing accounts. This role suits someone who enjoys autonomy, thrives in a fast-paced environment and is motivated by exceeding targets.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with business growth objectives
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities across targeted markets and geographies
* Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets
* Manage and grow relationships with existing customers, identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities
* Build and maintain strong industry networks to generate leads and stay close to market trends
* Maintain a strong understanding of products, services and regulatory requirements
* Prepare accurate sales forecasts and activity reports
* Analyse sales data to identify trends, risks and opportunities
About You
* Minimum
5 years' experience
in business development or field sales (life sciences)
* Proven success selling into
Pharma, Biotech or API
environments
* Strong understanding of
GMP, compliance and validation-driven sales
* Solutions-led mindset – able to sell on value, outcomes and risk mitigation
* Comfortable discussing
technical and complex solutions
with customers
* Highly self-motivated, organised and able to work autonomously
* Collaborative team player with a proactive, "hunter" mentality
