Quantity Surveyor Job
We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team. A Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for advising on contractual matters, identifying contract grounds for claim, and negotiating subcontractors and suppliers' prices and terms. They will also assist with project cash management, draft commercial/contractual correspondence, and prepare subcontract and suppliers documents.
Key Responsibilities:
* Advise on contractual matters – general and project level
* Identify contract grounds for claim
* Negotiate and agree subcontractors
* Ensure final accounts are closed in a timely manner
* Investigate losses and identify opportunities to maximise revenue and reduce cost
* Draft commercial/contractual correspondence
* Negotiate subcontract and suppliers' prices and terms
* Prepare subcontract and suppliers documents
* Review monthly cost reports
* Update risk registers, variation trackers, and extension of time tracker sheets
Requirements:
* Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
* At least 2+ years' experience in a Quantity Surveyor role on construction projects
* Ability to work on large scale, high headcount construction sites and sub-contractors experience
* Liaise with Commercial Manager and Contracts Manager when dealing with internal stakeholders and client's representatives while on site
* Strong time management skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
* Strong understanding of the construction industry and working on site
