The role
The Senior Project Manager (Sr. PM) will be responsible for the delivery of growth and sustaining capital projects at a Refinery. This role will report day‑to‑day to the onsite leader and will be supported by the Project Execution and Growth Portfolio team based in home office. The position requires strong leadership, project governance, and collaboration across engineering, supply chain, construction, and operations teams to safely and reliably deliver capital programs. Candidates must possess existing legal authorization to work in Ireland and can start immediately.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
Lead the execution of emerging growth projects and active (“in‑flight”) growth projects at the Refinery.
Assume responsibility for in‑flight projects following a structured two‑week transition period with the outgoing Sr. Project Manager.
Ensure projects are executed in accordance with safety, reliability, cost, schedule, and quality standards.
Front End Engineering & Business Case Development
Collaborate with Front End Engineering teams to develop robust business cases using the standardized business model.
Lead projects through the company’s authorization and stage‑gate approval process.
Work with onsite teams to secure appropriate onsite or contract engineering resources.
Manage procurement of materials and services in coordination with the Supply Management team.
Engage and manage onsite or contract construction resources to plan and execute project work safely and efficiently.
Provide execution and constructability input to the design.
Manage the Sustaining Capital End‑of‑Life Equipment Program, an annual capital program focused on replacing end‑of‑life assets.
Maintain and update a rolling six‑year business plan aligned with refinery and corporate capital planning cycles aligned with plant turnarounds.
Work closely with Operations to identify assets requiring replacement.
Provide monthly reporting and updates.
Additional Responsibilities
Support or lead additional projects as assigned, based on business priorities and available capacity.
Provide vendor oversight including fabrication shop visits, progress validation and direct engagement when required.
Provide expert cold eyes support for other portfolio projects across the organization when required.
Strong project management and capital delivery experience.
Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders across engineering, supply chain, construction, and operations.
Experience with stage‑gate governance, business case development, and capital planning.
