The Role.
GMC Utilities Group are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team.
You will play a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of projects, ensuring that cost control, value engineering, and risk management are maintained to the highest standard.
Key Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Key Responsibilities: Breakdown and analyse project budgets to ensure accurate cost allocation and control.
Prepare and manage subcontract packages and accounts.
Process Contract Variations and claims and maintain all associated records.
Prepare and monitor project cash flow projections.
Produce monthly valuations and manage agreements through to final account with both the Client and subcontractors.
Prepare, maintain, and review monthly cost reports.
Maintain and update risk registers, variation trackers, and extension of time trackers.
Liaise effectively with Clients, Subcontractors, and internal team to support successful project delivery.
The Candidate: Required Experience and Competencies: A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a Quantity Surveyor role, ideally on civils, utilities, or construction projects in Ireland or the UK.
Full clean driver's license essential.
Knowledge of NEC contracts is desirable.
Strong commercial awareness and a sound understanding of contract management.
Proven ability to manage workload efficiently on a number of projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
