Job Summary
Our client is a leading residential developer in the Cork area with a number of ongoing and upcoming large scale residential developments. We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor or experienced Project Surveyor to join our team.
The ideal Quantity Surveyor will have a minimum of 5 to 7 years post graduate experience, proven experience leading domestic construction projects and strong reporting and presentation skills.
This is an office based role with a requirement for regular site visits (all sites are located within the Cork urban area). The role offers a very competitive salary based on relevant experience in addition to further benefits.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for construction projects.
* Manage and monitor project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and the project remains within budget.
* Prepare tender documents, contracts, and procurement schedules, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
* Conduct valuations and prepare interim applications for payment, as well as final accounts.
* Liaise with supply chain and subcontractors, negotiate pricing, and agree on contract terms.
* Assess monthly sub-contractor valuations, variations and final accounts
* Work closely with site team and project management team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
Requirements
* Proficient in relevant software, such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Cubit, Buildsoft or other quantity surveying tools.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in medium to large scale residential projects.
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Commercial Management, or a related discipline
* High level of accuracy and precision in cost measurement and financial reporting.
* Strong understanding of construction contracts, including RIAI, JCT, NEC, and other standard forms of contract.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
* Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) and other digital construction techniques is an advantage but is not essential
