Project DeltaV Automation Engineer – Contract | Tipperary
We’re currently seeking an experienced DeltaV Automation Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity based in Tipperary. This role offers an excellent daily rate of up to €79/hr (LTD) and an initial duration of 11 months, with strong potential for extension.
Role Overview
As the Lead DeltaV Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering automation systems across a high-spec pharmaceutical manufacturing project. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary engineering team, vendors, and partners to ensure systems are delivered to specification, on time, and in line with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and deliver automation scope on a complex manufacturing project
* Develop and review SDLC documentation in line with GAMP guidelines
* Manage the interface of new automation equipment with existing site systems, including MES, PI Historian, and OEM skids
* Collaborate with vendors to ensure project requirements are met and integrated successfully
* Support hardware/software FATs and SATs
* Align project deliverables with internal quality, CSV, and documentation teams
* Track deliverables using project schedules and documentation trackers
* Attend and contribute to internal project and automation meetings
* Ensure compliance with all relevant GMP, quality, and regulatory requirements
Required Experience
* Minimum 5 years' automation experience within a regulated manufacturing environment (preferably pharmaceutical or biotech)
* Proven expertise in Emerson DeltaV (core system design, base and batch layers)
* Exposure to integration with systems such as PI Historian, MES, or OEM control systems
* Advantageous experience with Siemens PLC/SCADA, ABB DCS, OSISoft PI, or Werum PAS-X
* Strong understanding of SDLC and GAMP 5 principles
* Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
* Previous project experience in API, OSD, or high containment facilities is highly desirable
