Westmeath Contract: 12-Month Daily Rate Contract Role & Responsibilities As the on-site client representative, you will play a pivotal role in driving project success. Your primary objective will be to oversee all Construction (CSA) and Mechanical, Electrical & Process (MEP) works, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance are met. Key responsibilities include: Client Representation: Act as the primary client representative on site, attending all relevant meetings to ensure the construction manager and contractors are aligned with client expectations. On-Site Coordination: Monitor and coordinate all construction (CSA) and MEP works, ensuring seamless integration between different trades and workstreams. Safety Leadership: Champion and drive construction safety management, ensuring strict compliance with all EHS protocols and fostering a proactive safety culture on site. Project Controls: Meticulously manage project schedules, costs, and quality control. You will challenge proposals from the construction management team and contractors to ensure optimal outcomes. Scope Management: Track multiple project scopes concurrently, identifying potential out-of-scope issues early and implementing corrective actions. You'll also be capable of developing scopes of work with the design house and client. Live Environment Management: Skillfully manage construction activities within live operational facility environments, ensuring zero impact on ongoing operations by managing and mitigating risks. Handover & Commissioning: Coordinate and review all handover documentation, including commissioning activities, snagging, and pre-startup checklists, to ensure a smooth transition. Stakeholder Communication: Provide clear, concise, and regular project updates to internal stakeholders and project teams, fostering a collaborative and proactive site culture. Flexibility: Be prepared to support and supervise out-of-hours works (evenings and weekends) as required to meet project milestones. Skills & Experience Required We are looking for a driven and technically proficient professional with a proven track record in large-scale pharmaceutical construction projects. Essential criteria: Proven Track Record: Demonstrable experience as an MEP Coordinator or a similar role on large-scale pharmaceutical construction projects valued at over €30 million. Experience: A minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience in MEP and construction project coordination. Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction safety, GMP environments, and the complexities of working within live operational facilities. Strong knowledge of MEP systems design, installation, and commissioning is essential. Project Management Skills: Excellent knowledge of project controls (schedule, cost, quality) and a proven ability to manage multiple work fronts and contractors concurrently. Leadership & Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence, lead, and collaborate effectively. You must be able to drive action, resolve issues independently, and maintain project momentum. Handover Experience: Experience managing handover packs, pre-startup controls, and snagging processes. Proficiency: Ability to proficiently interpret scopes of work, drawings, and technical specifications. Work Arrangement This role is based on-site in Athlone 5 days per week to ensure effective project oversight. A hybrid working option may become available when project workloads and milestones allow.
