Radiography Aide (Part-Time, 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract) We are delighted to invite applications for the position of Radiography Aide to join our Radiology team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Radiology Department by ensuring safe, respectful, and efficient patient care. You will help facilitate smooth patient flow, maintain excellent communication, and uphold the highest standards of infection prevention, safety, and professionalism. Working Hours Part-time position, primarily evenings: 5:00pm - 8:00pm Weekend availability required Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties Assist Radiographers across departments, particularly in CT (Computed Tomography) and MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) Transport patients safely to and from wards and the Radiology Department Prepare patients for imaging procedures, including MRI scans Support patient care by observing and reporting any concerns to Radiographers Assist with patient movement, positioning, and changing where required Deliver contrast materials to wards and support scan preparation Carry out reception and administrative tasks, including patient registration and insurance forms Follow all departmental protocols, safety procedures, and Radiographer instructions Participate in training, meetings, and ongoing professional development General Duties Maintain cleanliness and organisation of procedure rooms, preparation areas, and changing facilities in line with infection control standards Assist with stock management, including ordering and monitoring supplies Report faulty equipment in accordance with departmental procedures Adhere to all Health & Safety, fire safety, and emergency procedures Support administrative duties such as answering phones and recording messages Ensure accurate documentation and data recording Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Radiographic Services Manager Candidate Requirements Essential Leaving Certificate (or equivalent) Strong customer-facing and interpersonal skills Excellent verbal and written English Basic IT proficiency (e.g. MS Office) Flexible, adaptable, and team-oriented approach Desirable Previous experience in a healthcare or similar environment Relevant certification or training in healthcare support Personal Attributes Compassionate and patient-focused Strong communication skills Ability to work effectively as part of a team Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic environment Proactive with a willingness to learn Additional Information Duties may evolve in line with service needs, requiring flexibility Performance will be reviewed during probation and annually thereafter The role operates on a rotational basis, requiring a flexible skill set Health, Safety & Confidentiality The successful candidate will: Comply with all Occupational Health requirements Uphold the highest standards of safety, health, and welfare Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient and hospital information Demonstrate professionalism at all times in line with organisational policies How to Apply To apply, Bon Secours Health System is an equal opportunities employer.
